Discover today’s most daring filmmakers
New Directors/New Films 2021 is here—online for the first time and at Lincoln Center’s NYC theaters—introducing audiences nationwide to the filmmakers who are changing cinema.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of New Directors/New Films, and past editions have debuted works by Kelly Reichardt, Pedro Almodóvar, Jia Zhangke, Spike Lee, Lynne Ramsay, Wong Kar Wai, Guillermo del Toro, and over a thousand others. This year’s festival includes 27 features and 11 shorts—from intimate, personal tales to political, metaphysical, and spiritual narratives—offering a global view of the most innovative and risk-taking filmmakers today.

MoMA members have access to watch the entire New Directors/New Films lineup, all at no additional cost. Plus, members get a year of curator-selected, streaming films on Virtual Cinema, along with other great benefits to use wherever you are.

Below are just a few of the films you won’t want to miss. Visit newdirectors.org for all the screening details, and become a member to start streaming.
